Where Is the Windows Presentation Foundation?
You can find the Windows Presentation Foundation in Windows XP today if you install the .NET 3.0 Framework. Just follow up your install with a copy of Microsoft Expression Interactive Designer (one of many new tools being built using Windows Presentation Foundation), and you have your first example of a complete Windows Presentation Foundation solution (see Figure 1).
Figure 1 Microsoft Expression Interactive Designer gives you easy access to Windows Presentation Foundation.
Currently, the most sophisticated example of the Windows Presentation Foundation in action is Windows Vista itself. The entire interface is presented using the Windows Presentation Foundation and XAML. The entire look-and-feel can only be generated using Windows Presentation Foundation.
