Crossing Over
There’s no getting around it — sometimes you just have to run a Windows application. Whether you insist on surfing the Internet in a non-secure browser or you have a more legitimate reason like your bank being firmly rooted in the late twentieth century, you may opt to install Internet Explorer 6. Xandros includes CrossOver Office for just such an eventuality.
I appreciated being able to select an item like Internet Explorer 6 or iTunes (4.9.0) from a list and having it install, rather than having to hunt for a compatible version somewhere on the Web. Unfortunately, not everything worked — such as iTunes seeing my iPod, for example.
