Conclusion
With Sync Services, Apple has introduced a very powerful new framework that will give developers even greater access to the included applications as well as the ability to make greater use of .Mac. After the peer-to-peer portions of the Sync Services are completed, data sharing between machines will be even easier.
After this feature is fully realized by the developer community, I suspect we will be seeing more and more applications offering to keep its data in sync between computers and devices. Personally I look forward to having my desktop and notebook automatically and completely synchronized.
Editor's Note: This is part 1 of a 3-part series. Be sure to also ready part 2, Getting in Sync with OS X and part 3, "Building on Apple Sync Services" (posting on September 8).
