Deleting Text

Press the Delete key to delete the character to the right of the insertion point.
Press the Backspace key to delete the character to the left.
Press Ctrl+Delete to delete the word to the right of the insertion point.
Press Ctrl+Backspace to delete the word to the left.

INTRODUCTION

It's as important to know how to delete text as it is to insert it. In this task, you learn techniques for deleting that you'll use every time you edit a document.

TIP

Deleting Several Words

To delete several words at once, hold down the Ctrl key as you press the Delete or Backspace key repeatedly.

TIP

Restoring Deleted Text

If you delete text accidentally, you can use the Undo feature to get it back. See the next task to learn how.

To delete a block of text, first select the text.
After the text is selected, press the Delete key.
To replace existing text with text you type, first select the existing text.
After the text is selected, type the new text.

Other Collection and Use of Information


Application and System Logs

Pearson automatically collects log data to help ensure the delivery, availability and security of this site.
