Convert Linked Table to Local Table
Actually, I’m feigning insult. I didn’t really want to import at all. Importing the table requires many more steps and isn’t very intuitive. It’s much easier to link, as done here, and then convert the linked table into a local table.
After the wizard finishes, in the main Access window I’m presented with the dialog box shown in Figure 8.
Here, I right-click the Movies item (note the Excel icon on its left) and choose Copy. I promptly choose Edit, Paste, where I’m prompted to name the table and choose what to paste, as shown in Figure 9. In this case, I want to paste both structure and data into a local table. I provide a name and then click OK.
