Conclusion
BizTalk Server 2004 is an out-of-the-box solution for EAI (enterprise application integration) and B2B requirements. It has many easy-to-use tools: Schema Editor, Mapper, and Orchestration Designer. Many common transport protocols are supported. All the tools are closely integrated with .NET. BizTalk Server 2004 is designed for inexpensive scalability and availability solutions. There is excellent message tracking support. Complex business rules can be easily implemented using the Business Rules Designer.
One drawback of BizTalk Server 2004 is that BizTalk licensing costs might be prohibitive for smaller implementations. All in all, if you need a very flexible and reliable EAI solution to be developed in a very short time, BizTalk Server 2004 can provide you with a very good long-term solution.
