Summary
In this chapter we have reviewed the layers that Cocoon is made up of, progressing from the wrapping of the Avalon infrastructure through to where user logic and content can be found. These layers provide the developer with a flexible route to developing an application without compromising the ability to take advantage of proven design patterns and a robust superstructure.
The one critical part of this processing model that we have not looked at in depth is the pipeline mechanism, expressed through the sitemap. Let's do that right now.
