Buying and Installing DDR DIMMs
The previous sections described some scenarios for installing different DIMM configurations. Most of that information also applies to DDR-DIMMs. The removal and installation procedure is the same and you go through similar steps to figure out your memory configuration. Note the following:
DDR DIMM modules are not interchangeable with standard DIMMS.
DDR DIMMS can be 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1.0 GB, but Table 6.1 defines what your system supports.
All DDR DIMMS are 184-pin, 2.5 volt.
Synchronous memory access is at the clock rate of 100 MHz or 133 MHz for all HP motherboards at the time of this writing.
