Moving Elements into Director
Select the layered Photoshop file and click Open. If you've checked off the Select Layers To Import option, the Select Layers window will appear, displaying all of the layers available with that file. Click on the layers you want to bring into Director. Select the first layer. Use the Shift key if you want to select a number of contiguous layers. Use the Control key to randomly select independent layers. Once you have selected the appropriate layers, click OK. PhotoCaster automatically brings the selected layers into Director, creating a unique Cast Member for each layer. Most importantly, it preserves the name of each layer (as you named it in Photoshop) and uses that as the name for that Cast Member. You'll see how handy that becomes once we start adding the interactive functionality to our text elements.
Join us for Part 2 of this series and see how we actually apply the interactivity for these navigational text elements.
