Pages and Layers Defined
Pages are additional sheets of paper in a Visio drawing file. Each page has its own set of properties. Layers are transparent sheets that lie over a specific drawing page. They are best thought of as pieces of see-through paper on which shapes are placed. A single page can have several layers. Some shapes automatically create layers when they are placed on a drawing page. A shape can belong to multiple layers. Finally, inheritance makes adding additional pages easier.
