Introducing Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
While trueSpace is a powerful tool, its strengths are in its capability to create and manipulate 3D objects. However, a computer game programmer will often use 2D graphics in many places, including in their 3D graphics.
Although you have even more choices for 2D design tools, I tend to stick with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I've used these tools for years and while I've tried other tools over time, I keep coming back to them. While neither Photoshop nor Illustrator is particularly cheap, once you make the initial investment, you'll find it pays for itself over time. Upgrades are reasonably priced, making it easy to stay current. I've included an evaluation copy of Photoshop on the CD-ROM, in the \Adobe directory.
