Merging Layers and Flattening
Web browsers won't be able to read the proprietary format of your Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro file, so you'll have to convert it to an appropriate file format. This means that you'll have to merge all the layers, or "flatten" your image. After an image is flattened, you can't fiddle with the layers anymore; it's important to save a copy of it with its layers intact, in case you want to go back and modify it later. (Save it as a Photoshop document, and then flatten the layers and save it again as a .gif, .png, or .jpg file.)
