Happily, the smashed access point on the floor was the only remaining wireless entryway into the Diversified Financials network. For now, Joan and Fred were blocked from their target. Also, Diversified Financials was very lucky, in that their attackers were adventurous college kids, who didn't release any of the very sensitive information they had retrieved. Instead, Fred and Joan just sat on the data, and went off to explore other wireless LANs in Gotham. Although Bart and his buddies at Diversified Financials were never able to apprehend Fred and Joan, they learned several very important lessons from their mistakes with wireless LANs. Diversified Financials immediately embarked on a comprehensive project to implement a much more secure wireless LAN infrastructure, complete with policy, processes, and technologies, to minimize the chance of future successful wireless LAN attacks against their company.
