Conclusion
Both Pocket Access and SQL Server CE can be very powerful databases in the hands of the Windows CE custom application developer. Pocket Access is best suited for single-user applications that need to interface with a desktop Access database. SQL Server CE databases, meanwhile, support advanced database capabilities and replication options, albeit only to an enterprise SQL Server database. If you develop in a Microsoft-only shop and envision Windows CE as the only mobile platform in your future, SQL Server CE is a capable database for virtually any task. Note, however, that synchronization with other enterprise data sources (Oracle, DB2, and so on) is not supported. Likewise, deployments to "alternate" platforms such as the PalmOS or J2ME are also impossible.
