Analysis that Doesn't End in Paralysis
Site Server did have an initial component for handling the analysis and reporting of key performance indicators in the Analysis Report Writer. Compared to the rest of the market, however, Analysis Report Writer was two generations behind its competitors. Realizing that the only approach that would provide at least competitive parity was the development of a console or, as Microsoft calls it, a Business Desk. Although today the Business Desk is not linked to .NET, if a company chooses to integrate it with other software strategies, XML can be used. Table 1 compares the differences in analytical tools between Site Server and Commerce Server 2000.
