Why Use a Simulator?

After you begin to create pages for use on the wireless Web, you will want to view them in an environment that simulates an i-mode handset screen. So now it's time to look at what's available in the way of i-mode emulators and simulators.

First you might be wondering, "What's the difference between an i-mode emulator and an i-mode simulator?" Well, strictly speaking, an i-mode emulator is a desktop program that you can use to visually examine and interact with your i-mode application, exactly as it would be if you were using an i-mode handset. A simulator will provide a visual representation of how your pages will look, but not be able to do more advance i-mode features.

At the time that this article was written, there were no English-language i-mode emulators available. However, this will likely change as i-mode service are made available in the United States and in Europe. Currently, there are some general mobile content simulators that can be used with your i-mode pages to give you an idea of how they will look in an i-mode handset.

Application and System Logs

Pearson automatically collects log data to help ensure the delivery, availability and security of this site. Web Analytics
