iMelody Download Services

The popularity of ringtones for i-mode has resulted in an abundance of online sites that allow you to download melodies in the format that will work with your particular handset. The sites usually require users to register first, but a few sites offer free downloads or free trial downloads to get you started.

Most i-mode Melody sites charge a monthly fee for downloading a fixed number of ringtones. This charge is often billed directly to the user's mobile phone bill, and can range from 100 to 300 yen (about US$.85 to $2.50) for downloading about five to ten Melodies per month for the popular sites. The songs are updated constantly, and include the latest pop and rock songs from all over the world, as well as classical, jazz, and other types. Most Melody sites include search engine for finding ringtones by your favorite artists, and a directory structure so you can browse by song, artist, and genre through the catalog of online music.

Once you have found the song that you want, i-mode Melody sites allow you to download the ringtone. You can then preview the content and, if you like what you hear, save it in your phone's memory. Most i-mode handsets can store multiple ringtones, but the number and type of ringtone varies from handset to handset, so be sure you know about the features of your particular model before you start signing up for pay services.

Other Collection and Use of Information


Application and System Logs

Pearson automatically collects log data to help ensure the delivery, availability and security of this site. If a user no longer desires our service and desires to delete his or her account, please contact us at customer-service@informit.com and we will process the deletion of a user's account.
