Getting Voice Command Directions
After you get driving directions, you can turn your Galaxy Tab into a turn-by-turn voice-command GPS device using the Maps app.
- Find directions to a location as you did earlier in this article.
On the map page, as shown in Figure 10, tap the Directions button.
Figure 10. The blue directions button appears in the lower-right corner of the screen.
- If you see a warning message window about the navigation app having beta status, tap OK in the window.
- A street map appears with a highlighted route, as shown in Figure 11. You can view step-by-step directions by tapping the white box that contains the travel time to your destination.
Drive the route. Much like a dedicated GPS, your Tab senses where you are on the route and proceeds to give you instructions, verbally and graphically.
Figure 11. The first step in the directions appears within the green box at the top of the screen.
If you have a vehicle mount in your car, you can attach the Tab 4 to the vehicle mount. Appendix A, Finding Galaxy Tab 4 Accessories, in My Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 has more information about vehicle mounts.
