Change Settings in My Files
From time to time, you may need to use the My Files app to find files stored on your Tab 4. You can access the My Files directory from the second Home screen page or within the Apps screen. When you open the My Files app, it shows you all the files you have recently added to the Tab 4. You can also view folders on the device, on your SD card, or in different categories.
However, My Files doesn't show you all the files available on the device because the Tab 4 considers some files (such as system files) to be unnecessary. If you would rather view all the files to ensure that you don't miss anything, you can view all files by tapping the Menu icon in the blue menu bar at the top of the screen and then tapping Display Options. You can then tap the Show Hidden Files checkbox within the Display Options menu shown in Figure 8.
Figure 8 After you tap the Show Hidden Files check box, it contains a green check mark.
After you tap the check box, tap OK. If there are any hidden files in the folder you're currently viewing, you'll see those files in the files list on the right side of the screen.
If you want to access the folder you're currently viewing quickly within the My Files app or from the Home screen, tap the folder you want and then tap the Menu icon in the blue menu bar at the top of the screen. Add the folder to your Favorite Folders list by tapping Add to Favorite Folders. The folder appears in the Favorite Folders section in the folders list on the left side of the screen (see Figure 9).

You can also add the folder to the main Home screen by tapping the Menu icon again and then tapping Add Shortcut to Home in the menu. Within the Add Shortcut to Home window, type the name of the shortcut to the folder if necessary and then tap OK. A popup window appears at the bottom of the screen that informs you the shortcut has been created. Press the Home button to view the folder icon on the Home screen (see Figure 10).
