Select the Right Amount of Internal Storage to Meet Your Needs
Your final big decision before acquiring an iPad mini 3 is how much internal storage capacity you want the tablet to have built in. It’s important to understand that no iPad models can be upgraded after the fact. So whatever storage capacity you select will determine its maximum capacity until you upgrade to a new iPad altogether.
Currently, the iPad mini 3 is available with 16GB, 64GB, or 128GB of internal storage, but the higher the storage capacity, the more you’ll pay. When choosing storage capacity, this determines how much data, in the form of apps, app-specific data, documents, files, photos, and multi-media content (music, TV shows, movies, eBooks, audiobooks, etc.), can be stored within the device.
Table 1 shows the current pricing for the iPad mini 3 (as of November 2014). Throughout the holiday season, however, some Apple authorized dealers are offering discounts and other special promotions to make this tablet more affordable.

Unless you want or need to store a large digital photo library, TV show collection or movie collection within your tablet, for example, most users will find that one of the 64GB iPad mini models offers adequate internal storage space, especially if the device will be used in conjunction with iCloud (or another cloud-based file storage service).
After selecting your iPad mini 3’s system configuration, it’s a good idea to also purchase in a case or cover for your tablet, such as an optional Apple SmartCover. Also consider investing in AppleCare+, which provides for unlimited technical support and repairs for your tablet for a two year period. (Some repairs or replacements require a $50.00 deductible, but this is must less costly than having to pay the full price for repairing a broken tablet or a cracked screen.)
