Setting Alert Sounds
If you want the Galaxy Tab 4 to make noise when you perform different actions, such as when you tap something on the screen, you can change the alert sounds. If you prefer, you can turn them off entirely.
Tap the Apps icon on the Home screen.
In the Apps screen, tap Settings.
Tap Device in the menu bar at the top of the screen. The Sound option is selected by default in the settings list.
- Tap Volume.
- Change the volume for music, video, games, and other media, notifications, and system sounds by dragging the appropriate slider bar to the left (lower volume) or right (higher volume).
- Tap OK.
Tap Notifications.
- Set the notification ringtone from the menu. This ringtone plays whenever you receive a notification. If you don’t want a ringtone, scroll to the top of the list and tap Silent.
Tap OK.
- Tap Touch Sounds to turn off the feature that plays a sound when you make a screen selection. Turn on this feature again by tapping Touch Sounds.
- Tap Screen Lock Sound to stop playing sounds when you lock and unlock the screen. Turn on this feature again by tapping Screen Lock Sound.
Swipe down the Sound settings list and then tap Adapt Sound to open the Adapt Sound screen and fine-tune the sound output of your earphones. You need to connect your earphones to the headphones/microphone jack on your Galaxy Tab 4 to use Adapt Sound.
