Analyzing Security Requirements
This objective focuses on the objects within a Windows 2000 network. You'll need an understanding of Active Directory, and how each type of server and workstation is secured by default. Spend time investigating the security templates and the options that can be enforced. You need to know how each of the following can be secured:
Domain controllers
Operations masters
Application servers
File and print servers
RAS Servers
Desktop computers
Laptops
Kiosks
You will need to know how to secure data and printers, both locally and on the network. Refresh your knowledge of the security concepts for Internet shares. Finally, revisit the security procedures for dial-in access for RAS.
NOTE
Study Hint: Security templates are more complex than they first appear. Create a test domain, and experiment with security templates.
