Managing Subscriptions
You can also manage your magazine and newspaper subscriptions from the Manage Your Kindle page. You can choose which device gets your subscription automatically, send past issues to your Kindle Fire, or download past issues so that you can sideload them to your Kindle Fire. Finally, you can cancel your subscription altogether. To learn more about subscribing to periodicals, see Chapter 4.
Changing Where a Subscription Is Delivered
You choose which device receives the automatic delivery of subscription content when you first subscribe. If you subscribe from your Kindle Fire, it automatically receives the subscription. You can change that choice from Manage Your Kindle. This option is available only if you have multiple Kindle devices registered.
- Click Subscription Settings.
- Click Edit for the subscription you want to change.
- Select a device to which new editions should be delivered.
Click Update.
Canceling a Subscription
Subscriptions are automatically charged on a monthly basis, even if the magazine arrives on your Kindle Fire on a different distribution schedule. If you want to cancel a subscription, you can do it from Manage Your Kindle.
- From Subscription Settings, click Actions for the subscription you want to cancel.
Click Cancel Subscription.
- Select one or more reasons for canceling.
- Enter a comment if you select Other.
Click Cancel Subscription.
Reactivating a Canceled Subscription
Amazon maintains a list of all your inactive subscriptions. You can use this list to easily reactivate a canceled subscription.
From Subscription Settings, click View Inactive Subscriptions.
- Click Actions for the subscription you want to reactivate.
Click Reactivate Subscription.
Click Reactivate Subscription in the confirmation dialog box.
Changing Subscription Privacy Settings
Amazon does not share your email address with content providers unless you explicitly give permission to do so. You can do that using subscription privacy settings.
- From Subscription Settings, locate Privacy Preferences for Newspapers and Magazine Subscriptions.
- Click Edit for the subscription you want to modify.
- Check the box(es) for the information you want to share with the content provider.
- If you want your settings to be the default for future subscriptions, check the appropriate box.
Click Update.
