Configuring and Managing Striped Volumes
Striped volumes, formerly called stripe sets, store data on two or more physical disks. Data is written across the disks in 64K blocks in a stripe fashion. Striped volumes are storage solutions that do not provide any fault tolerance, but they do improve hard disk access speed. You can create a striped volume the same way you create a spanned volume. You need at least two dynamic disks with a maximum of 32. Striped volumes do not provide fault tolerance, and they cannot be mirrored or extended. To create a striped volume, follow the previous steps and select the striped volume option.
