Conclusions
The scenario in Figure 2 illustrates a fundamental point about J2EE connectors: Support for the J2EE-CA model must exist, not only in the availability of compliant connectors or adapters, but also in application-server support for the necessary system contracts. Because this standard is somewhat new, J2EE connectors are not yet available as product offerings, although a couple of vendors, such as SAGA Software, have pledged to move in that direction. However, for this standard to take hold, it starts with application servers providing the essential infrastructure support for the J2EE connector architecture.
