Hiding Posts from Apps and Games
Some status updates aren’t really updates from a person, but rather updates from an application or game that the person is using or playing. These updates can be extremely annoying, especially when you see post after post from people who incessantly play Facebook’s social games. Fortunately, you don’t have to hide all the posts from your game-addicted friends; instead, you can choose to hide posts from the offending game or app.
Navigate to and mouse over a post from the app or game you want to hide; this displays a down arrow to the right of the post.
Click the down arrow.
Click Hide All by Application. (Replace Application with the app’s name.) This hides all future status updates generated by this app or game.

NOTE: Annoying Updates
Examples of this type of app-generated post include status updates alerting you that a friend has achieved a certain level on Farmville, or killed someone in Mafia Wars, or read a new book in their Goodreads library.
TIP: Unblocking Blocked Apps
If you later want to display updates from an app you’ve previously blocked, click the down arrow on the right side of the Facebook toolbar and click Privacy Settings. When the Privacy Settings page appears, scroll to the Blocked People and Apps section and click Manage Blocking. On the Manage Blocking page, scroll to the Block Apps section and click Unblock for any app you want to redisplay in your news feed.
