An Opening Thought on the Modularity Patterns

There was some debate surrounding the modularity patterns as I wrote this book. Some suggested they would be more aptly referred to as principles, while others preferred laws. Some even suggested referring to them as heuristics, guidelines, idioms, recipes, or rules. At the end of the day, however, all reviewers said they loved this bookโ€™s content and approach. So, in the end, I stuck with patterns. Instead of trying to decide whether you feel these should be patterns, principles, heuristics, or something else, I encourage you to focus on the topic of discussion for each pattern. The idea! Thatโ€™s whatโ€™s important.
