Chances are you've discovered that Twitter is a rolling river of information about things you're fascinated with. Are you following political campaigns? Learning about solar energy? Waiting for the Windows 8 beta to drop? You can follow people and subjects on Twitter that bring the information you're looking for right to your browser window. And now, thanks to Evernote, you can send the tweets you want to keep directly to your Evernote notebook, too.
Tweeting directly to Evernote can be a great way to gather research on a specific topic. When you find a tweet you want to keep, you can simply forward it along to your Evernote notebook by adding a simple tag to the tweet. The tweets will be collected as individual notes in your Evernote notebook; and you can tag, organize, or merge them so they'll be arranged in a way that best fits what you want to do.
Another perk Evernote offers is that it allows you to capture your notes on both PC and Mac, a rainbow of browsers, and a large selection of mobile devices (iPad, iPhone, Blackberry, Android, and Windows Phone). No matter what you use to create the notes, the information you add is synchronized through the web so you always have access to the most current content in your notebook.
And the relationship between Twitter and Evernote flows the other way, too: You can tweet your latest note by sending it from your note page directly to your Twitter account.
Setting up Twitter to Work with Evernote
The first step in linking Twitter and Evernote involves making sure you have created accounts for both programs. You can sign up for a Twitter account at http://www.twitter.com and create an Evernote account by going to http://www.evernote.com.
To create a link between the two programs, begin by going to your Twitter account and searching for myEN. myEN appears in your results list. Click the Follow button to the right of the account name (see Figure 1).

In response to your "follow," myEN will follow you back and send you a direct message. You can display the direct message by clicking the profile icon arrow and clicking Direct Messages. Click the link in the direct message to display your Evernote log in page, and enter your user name and password. This establishes the link between the two programs, and you're ready to tweet directly to your Evernote notebook.
