Setting Up Google Currents on Your iPhone
To download Google Currents, go to your portable device’s app store. Currents is available for free download from both the Apple App Store and the Android Market. (Right now it’s only available for U.S. users, however.)
To get started with Currents on the iPhone, download it for your phone, launch the app, and sign into Current with your Google Account. (If you don’t have a Google Account, you’ll need to create one.)
The Currents iPhone app comes with a few editions already subscribed to500px, The Daily Beast, Forbes, Fast Company, GOOD Lite, and Saveur Magazine. Naturally, you’ll want to subscribe to your own favorite content, so swipe the home screen to the left and tap the Add More (+) button.
You now see a screen of featured content (see Figure 1). You can browse or search for additional content by tapping the Library button at the top of the screen; tap a category to view similar editions, or tap Search to search through all of Currents’ available content. When you find an edition you want to subscribe to, tap the Add button.
That’s it; this edition is now subscribed to and new content is added to your Currents.

You can also add RSS, video, and photo feeds, as well as Google+ streams and Google Reader subscriptions to your version of Currents. To add an RSS feed, follow the procedure just discussed and opt to search for content. From the Search screen, enter the name of the blog or feed into the search box, then select the appropriate item. All new content posted to this feed will show up in your Currents.
