From the Photos app, select any of your Albums. As you're looking at the thumbnail screen for an Album, tap any thumbnail to view an image in full-screen mode. In the upper-right corner of the screen, you'll see the AirPlay icon. Tap it. When the AirPlay popup window appears, tap the Apple TV option. The image that's displayed on your iOS device's screen will also now appear on your television set. The Apple TV device must be turned on with the main menu (or screen saver) visible on the TV screen.
Use a right to left (or left to right) finger swipe to change images and view the rest of the images within that Album. Or tap the Slideshow command icon to view an animated slideshow that originates from your iOS device, but that's seen on your television set via Apple TV.
Use the onscreen commands on your iOS device to customize the slideshow and then tap the Start Slide Show icon on your iOS device. The animated slideshow will begin streaming wirelessly from your iOS device to your television set.
If you have videos that you've shot stored within your Photos app, you can select and view them as well to watch on your television set once your iOS device is in AirPlay mode. When using AirPlay, keep in mind that the content remains stored on your iOS device, but it gets streamed to your Apple TV and displayed on your television set. The content is not being saved on your Apple TV device.
