Custom Scanned Content
Custom scanned content is a function that is rarely found in games and has a lot of potential in future games. The Kinect Fun Labs game Googly Eyes and Kinectimals are a couple of examples that use this functionality for you to scan in objects that are used during game play.
- Googly Eyes is a stage skit recording game in which you scan in an object like a stuffed animal, a ball, a dog, or a small child to use as the main character. Once the object is scanned in, the game allows you to assign googly eyes on the top, middle, or bottom of the scanned object. Once your "custom character" is ready to go, you can begin your stage acting by controlling this bouncy character with your own body movementslike jumping and strafing while talking.
- Build-A-Bear Workshop and Kinectimals have joined forces to allow four of their furry friends, ChampA Champion Fur Kids, Colorful Hearts Bear, Endless Hearts Teddy, and Peace & Hearts Bear, to be scanned into Kinectimals as selectable characters in the game(downloadable content is required for older Kinectimal games for a small fee). Once they're selected, you can play soccer, fetch, and many other mini games with your new furry friends.
