Recording Video (Galaxy Tab 7″)
Your Galaxy Tab is capable of recording 720×480 video with its main 3-megapixel camera located on the rear of the device. The Galaxy Tab is also equipped with some very helpful features commonly found on dedicated camcorders, including white balance, a video light, manual exposure, and effects.
- Depending on which cellular carrier or Galaxy Tab model you have, the Camera icon may be located on a home screen or under Applications. Tap the Camera icon to access the camera feature.
- Move the mode button into the movie position to record video. Your Galaxy Tab switches to video mode.
- Tap the recording mode icon located in the upper-left corner of the viewer to select a recording mode. The Galaxy Tab is set to Normal by default, which means you can record a video of any length. Tap Limit for MMS to record a video up to one minute long, which is suitable for sending in a multimedia message.
- Tap the Flash icon to configure the built-in video light setting. By default, the flash, located next to the Camera lens on the back of the device, is set to add a little extra light to a dark scene. You can tap Off to deactivate the flash if the scene you are recording is well lit.
- An image that is too light or too dark degrades the appearance of your footage. To take full advantage of the camcorder feature of the Galaxy Tab, you need to adjust the exposure level for various bright or dark lighting conditions. Tap the Exposure Value icon.
- Drag the exposure level up to achieve a proper exposure level in a low-light shooting environment, or drag the level down for a very bright shooting environment.
- Tap the Settings icon in the lower-left corner of the viewer to customize more video settings.
- Compose the scene in the Viewer.
- Tap the Record button to begin recording.
- The Record button turns into a Stop button after you begin recording. Tap the Stop button to end recording.
- Tap the Image Viewer to review the footage you just recorded. You can also access your recorded videos by tapping the Videos or Gallery icon under Applications from any home screen.
