Connecting as a Mass Storage Device (Galaxy Tab 7″)
You can drag and drop files from a PC or Mac to your Galaxy Tab by connecting as a removable disk. Follow these steps to transfer music from your PC or Mac to your Galaxy Tab, using the Mass Storage USB mode.
- Connect the data cable to the Galaxy Tab and the USB connector to the USB port on your computer.
- Your Tab’s screen asks you to select a USB mode. Tap Mass Storage to drag and drop music files directly from your computer into a folder on your Galaxy Tab.
- Tap Mount. Your Tab appears as a removable disk under Hard Disk Drives on your PC or mounts directly to your desktop on a Mac.
- If you are connecting to a PC, Windows asks What Do You Want Windows to Do? (The title of this window might be different depending on the version of Windows you have.) Tap Cancel. You might have to tap Cancel twice because both your Tab and memory card may mount as two individual disks.
- Display your Tab folders by clicking the removable disk on your computer.
- If you do not already have a media folder, create a new folder on your Tab.
- Locate the files that you want to transfer onto your computer and then drag them to the music folder on your Tab. The files are copied to your device.
- After you have unmounted your Tab on your computer, tap Turn Off on your Tab.
- Disconnect the data cable from your computer and the device. When you tap the Music shortcut on your Tab, the music you have transferred is available for playback.
