Conclusions
Given all of these ethical arguments and the tremendous amount of good that we've seen free software has made possible in our world, it's easy to see how free software makes sense from a utilitarian perspective. Most of the advantages of free software end up being in higher-quality software, lower cost, and less development time. All of these lead to tremendous benefits for mankind, and so I conclude that free software is a better paradigm, ethically, than proprietary software.
