Focus on Compatibility and Security
Microsoft has included the so-called Compatibility Views in the previous couple versions of Internet Explorer. This is a concession to the fact that each successive version of IE undoubtedly results in rendering problems for some websites that were written to support a previous IE version.
The IE10 Developer Preview allows you to select several compatibility modes, ranging from IE10 (the default) all the way back to (gasp!) IE5. This enables web developers to test backward compatibility between IE10 and, well, “legacy” websites. The contents of the Debug menu are shown in Figure 10.

Microsoft has made tremendous strides over the past several years in enhancing the security and user privacy of Internet Explorer. Check out the IE10 Test Drive Site Map page for a number of security-related product demos, including ActiveX Filtering, Addon Performance Advisor, and the Browser Hang Test.
