Graphics Acceleration
Speaking of W3C standards, it appears that IE10 supports Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) 1.1 pretty darned well.
The ability to create gradient background images natively with CSS is a big deal among some web designers. Check out the SVG Gradient Background Maker and the CSS Gradient Maker to get an idea on how well IE10 supports these technologies.

IE10 feels, to my subjective eyes anyway, even faster than IE9. Besides the aforementioned content caching improvements that Microsoft added to the browser, we have very tight coupling between the IE rendering engine and your computer’s graphics card. This hardware acceleration makes displaying complex page layouts very fast indeed.
