What's the Catch?
Everything in this system can't be perfect, of course, but there isn't a lot of bad news. I merely have two main points to make:
- If you launch a video from the controller and then use your voice to stop the video, you have no way of restarting the video with your voice. I don't understand why the HuluPlus developers didn't implement an "Xbox Play" feature from this screen.
- My other gripe is the incredibly scaled-back video-searching capabilities available when using your voice. You can only browse the movies of the "Popular" list with your voice, and only the top 23 videos of that list, before you hit the controller-required Browse All option. However, Bing search is coming to Xbox, which will allow voice-controlled searching across all your apps, including Netflix, HuluPlus, LastFM, and Zune. That's probably why HuluPlus and Netflix aren't adding any more voice-controlled search capability to their apps, since that would be in vain with the advent of Bing search.
