Attend a Virtual Meeting from Anywhere Using GoToMeeting
The GoToMeeting online service, as well as WebEx and Fuse Meetings, allow groups of people to meet up online, participate in a traditional conference call, and simultaneously share information on a computer screen, such as a PowerPoint presentation. Or during the online-based meeting, participants can collaborate on a Word document or Excel spreadsheet, for example.
These online meeting services have each created its own proprietary iPad app that allows users to utilize the Internet and participate in virtual meetings from anywhere, for free. Visit the App Store to acquire the free apps for GoToMeeting, WebEx, or Fuse Meeting.
The person or organization that's hosting the virtual meeting with GoToMeeting, for example, pays a flat monthly fee, starting at $49.00 per month, which allows for an unlimited number of meetings with up to 15 attendees each.
Thanks to the GoToMeeting app for iPad, Apple tablet users can do everything a meeting attendee using a PC or Mac can do, such as see who is presenting, who's talking at any given moment, and who else is attending the meeting—all on their iPad screen. At the same time, what's on the presenter's screen will simultaneously appear on your tablet's screen as you're talking using a voice-over-IP connection (or you can dial in from a traditional phone line.)
