Associating a Photo with a Contact Within the Contacts App
If you use the Contacts app that's built into your iPhone or iPad, you can associate a digital photo that's stored within your phone or tablet with each entry. To do this, snap a photo and make sure it's saved on your iPhone or iPad within the Photos app.
Next, from Photos, view the image in full-screen mode, and tap the command icon that's located in the upper-right corner of the screen, between the Slideshow and trashcan icon on the iPad, or the icon in the lower-left corner of the screen on your iPhone. When the pull-down menu appears (shown in Figure 2), tap on the Assign to Contact tab, and then scroll down your list of contacts that appears. Select which contact you want to associate that photo with and tap on it.
Or from directly within the Contacts app, choose a contact you want to associate a photo with, tap on the Edit icon to edit that contact, tap on the Add Photo icon, and then select the Choose Photo option. Select the photo from whichever folder the desired image of that contact is stored in, and then tap on it.
Next tap on the Choose (or Use) icon. When the photo appears within the contact entry, tap on the blue-and-white Done icon to save your changes to that Contacts entry.
