Restore Points
Windows automatically creates the Restore Points for System Restore and Previous Versions at various times and intervals. But they are typically created weekly and before most installations of programs, drivers, and Windows Updates. You can also manually create them yourself:
- Click the Start button.
- Right-click Computer and select Properties.
- Click the System Protection link on the left pane.
- Then click the Create button (see Figure 1).

Restore Points are stored until the maximum capacity of your designated System Protection space is reached. Once reached, it automatically deletes older restore points making room for new ones.
