What To Bring
In addition to the preconfigured notebook and wireless card and a printed list of local access points, here's a list of other to-brings:
Spare battery. (Make sure it's charged!) Most hotspots don't have nearby power plugs.
Mouse alternative. Available tables aren't usually ergonomically correct for mouse use.
Back pillow. Seating isn't ergonomically correct either for hours of Internet browsing, so if your loved one has a bad back, send something to help.
Bathroom buddy. When nature calls in public venues, it's not possible to leave the laptop and papers lying around while you disappear to the restroom. Bathroom breaks mean shutting everything down and lugging it along, unless you have a friend to watch your stuff.
