Hard Disk Management and Backup Software
Two of the biggest internal hard disk vendors, Seagate and Western Digital, also provide image backup software as part of their disk management software.
Western Digital
Western Digital provides Acronis True Image WD Edition software as a drive cloning, drive migration, drive management, and drive image backup/restore utility for Western Digital hard disks. It can also be used to recover individual files from an image backup. It can be used with supported WD internal hard disks, and images can be stored on internal or external hard disks (and can be copied to network folders). WD’s software is based on Acronis True Image Home 2009; an upgrade offer from WD Edition to Acronis True Image Home 2011 is available here.
Seagate (and Maxtor)
Seagate has also licensed Acronis technology for its DiscWizard installation program. DiscWizard can be used as a drive cloning, drive migration, drive management, and drive image backup/restore utility. DiscWizard supports Windows 7 as well as older versions, and can be used with either Seagate or Maxtor internal hard disk drives. It can also be used to recover individual files from an image backup. An upgrade offer from DiscWizard to Acronis True Image Home 2011 is available here.
