Intel, Fujitsu, and SAS Say "Yes"
Meanwhile, some critics have charged (seemingly rightfully so) that the lack of total industry-wide support somewhat weakens Eclipse's overall effectiveness as a cross-platform environment.
On the other hand, despite the reluctance of some software players, Eclipse has added a number of additional ISV and IHV partners over the past six months or so.
Besides Novell, here are some other examples: Fujitsu; Intel; SAS; CollabNet; Embarcadero; Tensilica; and Metanology, maker of a development tool for the Object Management Group (OMG)'s Model Driven Architecture (MDA) initiative.
"Fujitsu is working on COBOL products that are based on Eclipse," Erickson elaborates. "Intel has expressed an interest in building tools for their own platforms."
