System Requirements
Windows Home Server 2011, along with requiring a 64-bit processor, requires the following specs for the PC running the server software:
- 1.4GHz processor
- 2GB RAM
- At least one 160GB or more hard drive
Keep in mind: You can’t connect the Windows Home Server directly to your Internet modem. It must be connected via Ethernet cable to a network router. The supported Windows versions for the client PCs include:
- Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Windows 7 Starter (32-bit only)
- Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise with Service Pack 2 (32-bit and 64-bit)
- Windows Vista Starter with SP2 (32-bit only)
- Windows XP Home, Professional, and Media Center Edition 2005 with Service Pack 3 (32-bit only)
