#6: Post Updates Frequently, But Not Too Frequently
When you post an update, shown in Figure 4, LinkedIn notifies your connections of this activity in the Network Activity section on their home page. Your update also appears on your profile for your connections to view. If you make an update visible to everyone, any LinkedIn member can view it on your profile.

Because updates are a great way to stay in touch with your connections and maintain visibility on LinkedIn, you should post updates on a regular basis. Posting several updates a week offers a good balance between exposure and overexposure. The best updates provide insightful, interesting content or relay pertinent information about your activities. For example, you can post news about your accomplishments and achievements, link to a blog post or relevant news story, or just let your connections know what’s new in your professional life. Updates aren’t the place, however, for overt sales messages or advertisements. For best results, keep any promotional updates low-key and professional.
