Customizing the Quick Access Toolbar
Word 2007 and Word 2010 include the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT), located in the upper-left corner in both versions of the product. The Save, Undo, and Redo commands are included in this menu by default.
You can customize the QAT by clicking the drop-down arrow located to the right of the last item on the toolbar, the Redo button by default.
Figure 4 shows the options available.
The default items in the QAT have a check mark next to them. To place additional icons on the QAT, just check the appropriate boxes.
To view the additional items that are available, click the More Commands menu item. This brings up a new window that displays almost all the selectable items from all the tabs within Word. Finally, the last item on the drop-down list, Show Below the Ribbon, allows you to move the QAT below the Ribbon instead of the default location on top of the Ribbon.
This simple feature makes Word a more productive tool[md]saving you the time it takes to navigate the different Ribbons.
