Saving as PDF or XPS
A feature that used to require a third party purchase has been added to both Word 2007 and Word 2010. You can now save your Word document to a PDF or the XPS format. PDF files are very popular on the Internet; the lesser known XPS format was first introduced in the Microsoft Vista operating system. XPS (XML Paper Specification) is a competitor to the PDF format. You can read more about the XPS format at Microsoft's XML Paper Specification.
Figure 2 shows the Save & Send and Create PDF/XPS Document features.
In Microsoft Word 2007, you'll find the feature located under the Save As menu. After clicking the menu item, you'll be asked where you want your file to be saved.
