What’s New in Excel
Continuing the theme for data visualization, the key new features in Excel 2010 would be Sparklines and the Slicer.
Sparklines are small charts within a cell to visualize a range of data; you can merge more than one cell to make them larger and use a Design tab in the Ribbon to modify them (see Figure 2).

Slicer is a feature of the Pivot Table that provides a visual interface for filtering data from one of the fields in real time (see Figure 3).

Clicking the drop-down arrow next to a field in the Pivot Table fields list also provides a new Search in Table utility.
