#5: Restore the Recent Items List on the Start Menu
In Windows 7, you'll find that the Recent Items menu, which listed recently opened documents and files, has been removed from the Start Menu.
Most programs on the Start Menu have their own Jump List (see Figure 6), featuring Recent Items and possibly other shortcuts. However, sometimes you might not find the desired application on the Start Menu shortcuts.
Here's how to get the old Recent Items menu back on the Start Menu (see Figure 7):
- Right-click on the Taskbar and select Properties.
- On the window that opens, select the Start Menu tab and click the Customize button.
- Scroll down, select Recent Items, and click OK.
