The big change for photo viewing in Media Center 7 is the ability to create and save your own custom slide shows (see Figure 6). The Pictures section contains a new Slide Shows option on the submenu. Select Create Slide Show, and you're prompted to enter a name for the new slide show and then choose the location of the pictures for the slide show. You can select entire folders for the slide show, or check individual pictures to include.

The slide shows you create are listed on the Slide Shows page. Click a slide show to display the Pictures panel. From there you can opt to play the slide show, or click the right arrow to display additional commands: Edit Slide Show, Burn a CD/DVD, or Delete. As with previous versions of Media Center, your slide shows play with Ken Burns documentary-like pan-and-zoom transitions.
